Puppy Recommendations/Contract

The following are my recommendations for the best care for your puppy:

~Always keep your puppy indoors, as a part of your family, and give him/her lots of TLC.

~Provide fresh water and food daily, as well as a clean environment for your puppy to live.

~Maintain the puppy’s immunizations and de-wormings, as has already been started, and as recommended by your qualified Veterinarian. With at least annual Vet examinations.

~Provide your puppy/dog with regular grooming, which includes: regular brushing (at least once a week), bathing, nail clipping and trimming the coat. Professional grooming will need to be done (by yourself or an outside source) about every other month. Bathing, brushing and nail clipping will have to be done more frequently.

~Take care not to let the puppy out unattended or off a leash or run. Miniature Schnauzers are curious terriers and will run off after vermin or something that may interest them.

Terms of sale:

~You have purchased this puppy as a pet, and this puppy will need to be spayed or neutered as soon as your Vet will perform the procedure ...usually around 6 months of age. (This will lessen the chance of certain conditions that can develop with the reproductive organs, as well as behavior issues.) AKC Registration is available if requested.

~Your puppy has been wormed at least X3 with Safeguard or Pyrantel Pamoate. Ask your chosen Veterinarian the schedule he/she recommends after this stage.

~Your puppy has been given his/her first set of shots at 6-7 weeks of age. Your puppy will need to have the 2nd set of shots done around 12-14 weeks of age...then a yearly booster.(Rabies booster is given initially at around 3-4 months of age. Again in 1 year, and then every 3 years according to PA law.) **Please note that your dog's vaccination schedule needs to be discussed with your chosen Veterinarian at your first appointment.

~Have your puppy seen by your Veterinarian within 1 week of bringing him/her home with you. If your Veterinarian is not happy with the puppy's health, you can return the puppy for a replacement puppy from the next litter or refund the purchase price. This must occur within 1 week.

~Breeder reserves the ‘right of first refusal’…..If at any time the buyer cannot care for the dog, the breeder must be contacted first. The puppy/dog will then be placed in a new home by the breeder. Any sum that is collected by the breeder will then be given to the returnee minus advertisement and/or veterinary expense. Never, will this dog be surrendered to a shelter, ASPCA or other type of rescue.

~Your puppy is guaranteed free of hereditary defects for one year. These defects include Cryptorchidism, Juvenile Cataracts & Retinal Atrophy. If this should occur, you can return the defective dog and you will receive purchase price credit towards another puppy.

I have read the above information and have had the opportunity to ask any questions. I agree to conform to the above ‘terms of sale’ as written.
